Dresser Makeover
Thank you so much for clicking π I hope you are inspired by this awesome dresser makeover! Read below for the full explanation of this transformation!
The Process
This custom piece dresser makeover was a BEAST of a project! It literally looked like a dog had chewed the whole side of it and there were a lot of pieces broken off.. look at the bottom closely… see there is a difference! [I had to saw parts off to make it match on both sides!)
This customer requested that there be shelves, so the tracks from the two center drawer spaces were removed.
After lots of wood filler and glue I painted this piece in Wise Owl’s Antique RedΒ It took about 2 [some parts three] layers of paint to cover, I went through about a pint and a 4th total. This piece was sealed in Minwax Clear Gloss Polycrylic.
JAM’s Advice:
-Always clean your piece before painting. [with dawn dish soap and water]
-If the surface of your piece is ‘Shiny’ rough it up a little with sand paper before painting.
-Remove all of hardware before painting. [if possible]
-HAVE PATIENCE
-Just because a piece of furniture looks rough doesn’t meant it can’t be saved! xoxo
